Invisalign provides a new take on traditional orthodontic treatment. Instead of using metal brackets and wires to straighten your teeth or jaw, it uses a series of transparent dental appliances.
Invisalign aligners are custom-crafted to fit the unique cusps of your teeth. They’re made of SmartTrack®, an FDA-approved thermoplastic that’s free of all toxins, making it safe for pregnant women and people with allergies.
At House of Braces, the team uses Invisalign to treat both simple and complicated cases. Throughout treatment, your provider monitors your progress and makes adjustments as necessary. Depending on your needs and dental health history, they might recommend hybrid appliances that combine braces and aligners.
At House of Braces, the team uses Invisalign to correct mild and moderate alignment issues, including:
You might also benefit from Invisalign if you have a misaligned jaw that interferes with your ability to bite or chew comfortably.
Before Invisalign treatment begins, your provider conducts an oral exam and takes a series of digital X-rays. Then, they use an intraoral scanner to take digital impressions of your teeth and jaw. Your provider uploads your impressions to a computer program and develops an orthodontic treatment plan that maps the movements of your teeth and jaw.
After approving a plan, your provider sends the impressions to a dental laboratory. The laboratory uses your impressions to create your first set of Invisalign aligners. A week later, you return to the House of Braces. You try on the aligners, and your provider makes adjustments as necessary.
Every few weeks, you return to the nearest office and change into a new set of aligners. To achieve optimal results, it’s important to wear your aligners between 20-22 hours each day.
Orthodontic treatment with Invisalign typically takes 6-12* months, but it can take longer depending on the alignment issues addressed. To speed up the process, attend each of your orthodontic checkups and carefully follow your provider’s instructions.
Yes. Invisalign aligners easily collect food particles, saliva, and bacteria. To prevent buildup, rinse them in tap water several times a day and brush them with a soft-bristle toothbrush before going to bed at night. If you need a more thorough cleaning, ask your provider about Invisalign cleaning crystals.
